Lewis E. Stanford Jr.

GLENFIELD- Lewis E. Stanford Jr. 82, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Carthage Area Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Pine Grove Mennonite Church, 9011 Van Amber Road, Castorland on Monday, September 16, 2019 with Pastor Nathan Zehr, officiating.  A calling hour will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service, at the church.  A meal at the church fellowship hall will immediately follow the funeral service.  Burial will be in Brantingham Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.  Contributions may be made to the Pine Grove Mennonite Church, 9011 Van Amber Road, Castorland, NY 13620.

Lewis married Margaret T. Watts on December 25, 1954, the marriage ended in divorce.  They had 9 children: Daniel and companion Dawne of Lowville, Lewis of Dadville, Joseph of Carthage, Peter and Delite of Glenfield, Bonnie of Lowville, Judith and Mark Ball of Harrisville, Timothy and Kathleen of Glenfield, Kathrynn (Deceased), Patricia and Brian Moser of Castorland.

Lewis married Yvonne Lamb Ackley on August 27, 2002.  Lewis had four step-children, Sheri Warner of Louisville, KY, Rachel Adams of Wilson, N.C., John Ackley of Corbin, KY, and Carl Ackley of Heyburn, Idaho.

Lewis is survived by his loving wife Yvonne, and two brothers, Duane Stanford of Greig and Bernard (Marsha) Stanford of Glenfield.

He was born to Lewis E. Stanford Sr. and Viola Mae Norris Stanford on April 21, 1937 on the Artz Road in the town of New Bremen.  Lewis had several grandchildren, great grandchildren and another on the way.

Lewis enjoyed spending time with family, hunting, fishing and horses.  He was a self -employed farmer, logger and truck driver.

Lewis was predeceased by his father and mother, a daughter, Kathrynn and a great granddaughter, Chloe Rene.
