Julia Meszaros Robinson Obituary

Whitesboro- NY: Julia B. Meszaros Robinson of Whitesboro, NY was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, November 16, 2019 while living at home with her family by her side.

Julia was born August 11, 1931, in Lowville, NY to Lester and Pearl (Wakefield) Weller. She married Louis Meszaros in 1949 and was happily married for 47 years until his death in October 1996. Together they had six children. She was a wonderful mother to her children and considered “mom” to many others including those that she provided foster care for and neighborhood children. Julia also loved participating in the Weller Reunions every other year with her large extended family.

Prior to her marriage to Louis, Julia lived in New York City where she worked at the Royal Typewriter Company. After her marriage Julia was a book keeper for their family owned mink business and her brother-in-law John’s Massey Ferguson business, and baked and sold homemade doughnuts for a local store in New Bremen, NY, all while managing a busy household. They moved from New Bremen to Watson in the late 1960’s.

Throughout her life, Julia loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was a very active member in the Lowville Bethel Church of the Nazarene. Julia had many jobs in the church including serving as a church board member, being a greeter and starting and maintaining a newspaper fund drive for years to help support children so they could attend summer church camp in Brooktondale, NY. Julia loved music, singing, and was a strong believer in prayer. She was always sharing her faith and love for the Lord.

After the passing of her husband Louis, Julia enjoyed winters in Florida with her brother Perry and sister Shirley. She married Harold Robinson (Elmira, NY) in 2003.

When Julia’s health declined two years ago, she came to live with her daughter Gazella and granddaughters Jessica and Julianne, as well as their pets that she loved and adored.

Julia is survived by four of her children: Lou Ann Kegler and her husband Robert (Saco, ME), Gazella Carney (Whitesboro, NY), Louis Meszaros (Rome, NY), and Stephen Meszaros (Otto, NC), grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Julia was predeceased by her husband Louis, son David, daughter Nancy, seven brothers: Duane, Harold, Clifford, Spencer, Vernon, Perry, and Lester Jr., and four sisters: Shirley, Arletha, Esther, and Helen.

We especially want to thank the staff from Hospice of New Hartford for their kind, generous, and loving support they provided to us during this difficult time, as well as the many doctors who provided care for Julia, the Oneida County Meals on Wheels program, Lutheran Home Helping Hands, and Jennifer Iseneker from Iseneker Funeral Home. They are truly angels in a time of need.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethel Church of the Nazarene, Lowville with Pastor Nate Patnode officiating. There will be no calling hours. Spring burial will be in the New Bremen Rural Cemetery.
