LOWVILLE–James A. Russell Jr., 78, of East State Street, passed away Tuesday evening, August 7, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family.
In keeping with James’ wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Lowville Rural Cemetery with Rev. James Jenkins officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lowville Free Library 5387 Dayan St. Lowville, NY 13367. Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home Inc., Lowville.
He is survived by his children; Julie and Tony Beyer of Lowville, James P. Russell of Alexandria Bay, Lisa and Michael Bush of Beaver Falls, Steven and Elisabeth Russell of Leander, TX; his siblings, Joyce Cabral of Utica, Edward Russell of Lowville, Olive Champigney of Lowville, Rosiland Delles of Lowville, George Russell of Lowville, Joan and Michael Lawson of Enfield, CT; 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by a brother, Jay Russell and a sister, Mildred Russell.
Jim was born March 28, 1940 in New Haven, Connecticut, a son of the late James A. Sr. and Leila Devine Russell and graduated from Lowville Academy in 1958 . Marriages to Patricia Robbins and Sarah Brinkerhoff ended in divorce. He worked various jobs before going to work for Law Brothers as a painter for many years.
He enjoyed fishing, painting, and playing cards. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
