Harlan C. Farney

LOWVILLE-   Harlan C. Farney, 93, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 25, 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Utica. 

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday March 2, 2018 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc. with Ministers of the Apostolic Christian Church of America, Croghan, officiating. A calling hour will be held from  3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Spring burial will be in Beaches Bridge Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Lewis County Humane Society, P. O. Box 682, Lowville, NY 13367.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lucinda and Nicholas Rombough; his 8 grandchildren; Nichole Moore-Hewitt, Samantha and Dennis Raso, Jessica Farney and her companion, Colby Post, Michael Farney, Damian Rombough and his companion, Cassandra Burkhart, Ashley Rombough, Nichole Rombough and her companion, Taylor Tucker, and Dalton Rombough; his great grandchildren; and a niece and a nephew. He is predeceased by his son, Curtis Farney; a brother Carlton Farney; and a sister Arlene Rock.

Harlan was born on January 21, 1925 a son of the late Hiram and Sarah Virkler Farney. He graduated from Beaver Falls High School. He was a Dairy Farmer until 1968 on the Farney Road with his brother Carlton Farney. He was also a Mink Farmer from 1953 to 1989. He worked for the Town of Watson for 17 years, retiring in 1987.

Mr. Farney was a past member of Beaver Lake Hunting Club for many years and he enjoyed woodworking.
