Florence M. Failing

GLENFIELD-The funeral for Florence M. Failing, 76, formerly of Pine Grove Road, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Lowville, with Pastor Keith W. Hardy Jr., Pastor of Bethel Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be at the family's convenience in West Lowville Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017, prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Martinsburg United Methodist Church, Sate Route 26, Marinsburg, NY 13404.  Florence died on Tuesday morning, November 14, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Utica.

She was born on March 1, 1941in Lowville, New York, a daughter of the late Leslie L. and Vera E. Boshart Failing, she graduated from Lowville Academy and attended Watertown School of Commerce.  She worked babysitting and for Number Four Hotel, “Pokies” for 15 years and then for Lowville Academy as a cleaner from 1972-1999, when she retired.   She was a member of the Martinsburg United Methodist Church and Pine Grove Community Church.  She was a member of the Black River Valley Fiddlers Association, and New York State Old Time Fiddlers Association, a member of Greater Watertown Senior Citizens Club and the Lewis County Historical Society.
Surviving are several cousins and many friends.  She is predeceased by her sister Sandra A. McMahon, who died on October 26, 2000.
