MARTINSBURG – Frank E. Hoch, 83, of Magdalene Street, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 28, 2012, while under the care of Lewis County Hospice and his family.
The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Calling hours are from Noon – 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Martinsburg Cemetery. He is survived by three children and their spouses, Becky and William Stanton of Lowville; Douglas F. Hoch of Martinsburg; Robert and Paula Hoch of Martinsburg; a brother, Donald Hoch of Watson; a brother-in-law, Lyle Robbins of East Martinsburg; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; 14 foster children. He is predeceased by a brother, Calvin Hoch, and two sisters, Norma Robbins and Grace Adams.
Mr. Hoch was born on September 7, 1928 in Martinsburg, a son of the late Sylvester and Mary Hoch. On November 23, 1955, he married Shirley J. Cannan in Glenfield. Mrs. Hoch died November 22, 1994. Mr. Hoch worked for the NYS DEC in Dadville in the Green Thumb program, worked for Martinsburg School and Martinsburg Water as caretaker, and retired from the NYS DOT after many years of service. He ran the Old McDonald’s Farm at the Lewis and Oneida County Fairs for several years.
Frank was a member of Martinsburg Fire Department. He enjoy camping and animals.
