Meghan E. Mathys

LOWVILLE – Meghan E. Mathys, 37, East State Street, Lowille, NY died on Thursday, December 7, 2017.    

A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Iseneker Funeral Home Inc., Lowville, with Rev. Jay Seymour, Pastor of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in Beaches Bridge Cemetery.  A gathering at 3 G Fire Department, Glenfield, will immediately follow the graveside service.  Any food donations may be taken directly to the fire hall, any time after 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.  Calling hours will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m.  on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.  Contributions may be made to the Lewis County Humane Society, P.O. Box 682, Lowville, NY 13367.

She is survived by mother and step-father, Patricia and Charles Stewart of Stony Lake, NY; her father Joseph Mathys of Glenfield, her brother Michael “Bing” Mathys and his wife, Bethany, and their daughter Abigail, of Lowville, her step-brother,  Justin Stewart and his companion Nikki Vassenelli, of Phoenix, NY; her step-grandmother, Charlotte Stewart,of Lowville; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Robert Sr. and Angeline Shue; paternal grandparents Harold and Elizabeth Mathys.

Meghan was born on April 29, 1980 Watertown, N.Y., a daughter of Joseph P. and Patricia M. Shue Mathys.  She graduated from Lowville Academy and Central School in 1998 and attended Herkimer Community College.  She was currently working for Otis Technology in Lyons Falls.

She enjoyed knitting, making jam and taking care of her cat Idgie. She enjoyed spending time at Stony Lake with her family as well as spending time with her many friends.
