Kayden Loomis Obituary

CONSTABLEVILLE – Kayden H. Loomis, 79, of State Route 12D Constableville passed away late Friday evening, April 27, 2018 at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, Augusta, Georgia. 

A funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., in Lowville.  Calling hours are Friday, May 11, 2018 from 1-3 and 6-8 prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lewis County Humane Society, P.O. Box 682, Lowville, NY 13367.   

He is survived by 2 children and their spouses; Scott and Theresa Loomis of Constableville; and their children, Courtney and Bruce Kraegar, and their children, Nolan, Brooke, Kayden, Maverick, and Lyra. Shelby and Justin Cobb, and their children, Paxton, Joseph, and Jaymis. Shawn Loomis and his fiancée, Kayla Carberry, and Collin Loomis; Renae(Col.(Ret)David) Hater their children Joanna(Oscar) McGee, 2LT Andrew Hater.

Renae along with one of Kayden's best friend, co watcher of Women's college softball and fixers of all big and small,David Ewing enriched Kaydens life with even more grandchildren he called his own. Kevin(Shelby)Ewing,Japheth(Jessica,Parker,Clara)Gossage Jonathan ( Destiny, Damon, Mariah) McCrea, Cora (Jaguar)Ludwick; a sister, Shirley Meekins of Lowville; longtime hunting partners, Mike and Esther Kilbourn of Lyons Falls; his beloved dog, Freida; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by three brothers; Francis, Eldon, and Doug Loomis.

Kayden was born on August 14, 1938 in Lowville, NY a son of the late Fay D. and Louise Wilcox Loomis. He attended Port Leyden School. His father died when he was 16 and he went to work to support his family (for 6 years), and went to work at Georgia Pacific in Mckeever, until they closed in 1959. In 1961 he went to work for AMF, and he was then drafted into the U.S. Army, serving from 1961 to 1963. After his service, he returned to AMF and worked for 39 ½ years, retiring in 2000. A marriage to Florence Carpenter ended after many years.

Kayden enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on cars like his 1950 Pontiac.
