LOWVILLE-Helen M. Dunn, 88, of Dayan Street, Lowville, died on Saturday afternoon, January 7, 2017 at St. Luke’s Healthcare, Utica.

The funeral will be at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville, with  Rev. Ed Murphy, officiating.  Spring burial will be in Beaches Bridge Cemetery.  Calling hours are from 1-4 p.m. prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home.  Contributions may be made to Lowville Food Pantry, 7646 Forest Ave., Lowville, NY 13367

A gathering will be immediately following the funeral service at Marine Corps League, NYS Route 12, Lowville.   All are welcome.

She is survived by her fourteen children and their spouses, Mary and Edward O’Brien of Lowville; Thomas and Helen Dunn of Mulberry, FL; Susan Thisse of Mulberry, FL; Victoria and Lewis Crossway of Watertown; Cheryl and Gerald Kaban of Adams; Laurie and Dale Stoltzfus of Lowville; Colleen and Michael Hancock of Carthage; Douglas and Sherri Dunn of Brinnon, WA; Francis Jr. and Debra Dunn of Lowville; Mark and Debra Dunn of Tylerville; Nicholas and Sandra Dunn of Barnes Corners; Tresa Dunn of Lowville; Terry and Beverly Dunn of Lowville; Steven Dunn of Glenfield; a brother, Robert Hamblin of Greig; two sisters, Audrey Streeter of Lowville; Patricia and her husband Harley Lee of Lowville; 55 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She is predeceased by her husband, Francis R. Dunn Sr., who passed away in 1992, and a son, Francis Edward Dunn who died at six weeks old in 1948.  She is also predeceased by a son-in-law, Patrick Thisse, a brother Roy Hamblin; four sisters, Grace Leviker-Souva, Thelma Greeney, Doris Lambert, and Jean Moore; three step-sisters, Mina Curtis, Blanche Souva, Rose Hellinger; two step brothers, Herman and Darwin Smith.

Helen was born in Lowville, NY on June 14, 1928, a daughter of the late Roy and Elsie Cook Hamblin.  She attended country school in Montague and then Lowville Academy.  On March 31, 1945 she married Francis R. Dunn at Martinsburg United Methodist Church Parsonage.  She raised a large family, and worked in the kitchen at Paul’s Restaurant for a short time. 

When her husband was alive, they enjoyed traveling to Florida.  She also enjoyed crocheting, and most of all spending time with her family.  Family was most important, and she especially loved their gatherings and reunions.
