Frances Y. Dicob

LOWVILLE – Frances Y. Dicob, 88, formerly of Sharp Road, Lowville, passed away early Friday morning, December 29, 2017 at Presbyterian Home, New Hartford.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville with Thomas Lorenz, Chaplin of Presbyterian Home and Services, New Hartford, officiating.  Spring burial will be in Martinsburg Cemetery.  Calling hours are from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Presbyterian Home and Services, Activities Department, P.O. Box 1144, New Hartford, NY 13413. 

She was born on July 18, 1929 in Lake Placid, NY, a daughter of the late Gerald and Doris Preston Yousey.  She was educated locally.  On April 21, 1951, she married Theodore F. Koziol at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Lowville, with Msgr. Cotter, officiating.  Fran worked as a telephone operator and together with her first husband, Ted, the couple owned and operated a dairy farm on the Lee Road.  He died in June, 1980.  Fran also worked for Kraft in Lowville, Cohn’s Department Store and worked as a switchboard operator at Lewis County General Hospital for many years.  In December 1985, she married Paul Dicob.  Paul died on May 26, 2011.  She was an active member of Bethel Church of the Nazarene, Lowville, where she taught Sunday school and directed the choir, enjoyed bible study, children’s church, and did missionary presentations.  She also enjoyed painting years ago, cooking and baking, making wedding cakes and flannel graph presentations.  She loved music and singing.  She had her pilot’s license and enjoyed flying in the early years.

Fran is survived by a son Kevin Koziol of Richmond, VA; a step-son, Rodney (Joanne) Dicob of Lowville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Stuart D. and Carolyn Yousey of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; Donald E. and Connie Yousey of Glenfield, David G. and Hilda Yousey of Lowville;  and several nieces and nephews.
