E. Charles Bellinger

REMSEN – E. Charles Bellinger, 83, of Fuller Road, Remsen, passed away Wednesday December 27, 2017, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica. 

A private funeral service will be held at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., in Lowville at the family’s convenience, with Rev. Deacon Tom Yousey, officiating.  Spring burial will be in Lowville Rural Cemetery.  There will be no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kelberman Center (The Regional Center for People with Autism), 2608 Genesee St. Utica, NY 13502; or Remsen Volunteer Fire Department, 9623 Main St, Remsen, NY 13438.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce; his four children: Michael and Stacylea Bellinger of Remsen, Kathryn and Jeff Gouger of Floyd, Daniel and Nanette Bellinger of Holland Patent and Bette and Tim Thomas of Remsen. He is also survived by his sister Elizabeth Bellinger of Utica, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by a brother, Robert Bellinger and two sisters: Marge Kittleman and Dorothy Cox.

Charlie was born on January 16, 1934 in Utica, NY, a son of the late Abraham and Marie Terrillion Bellinger. He graduated from Utica Free Academy in 1952. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1953-1957. On October 2, 1954, he married Joyce J. Loson at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lowville. Together with his son Daniel, they founded Bellinger’s Garage and Service Station in Barneveld in 1981, which they owned and operated for many years. He enjoyed playing cards, camping, watching sports games and spending time with his family.
