HOUSEVILLE – Clifford H. Lane, 90, of State Route 26, passed away Monday evening, May 16, 2016 at Lewis County General Hospital.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas H. and Gretchen Lane of Houseville; a son-in-law, William Brown of Marcy; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Lane of Utica; Gladys Lane of Houseville; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Shirley Lane; a daughter, Kathryn Louise Lane Brown, who died in 1996; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Durward Lane; Lansing and Virginia Lane; and George Lane, Jr.; and by a sister, DeEtta Jaconski.

Clifford Herbert Lane was born on May 26, 1925 at home in the Town of Croghan, NY, a son of the late George K. Lane, Sr. and Ella Steiner Lane.    He married Mary Shirley Burke in Glenfield in 1945.  Clifford farmed all of life in the towns of Turin and West Turin.  He served as the Superintendent of the Turin Highway Department from 1980 – 1984.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.  Burial will be held privately in Beaches Bridge Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.  Contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice
