Chuck was an avid outdoorsman.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and woodworking.  Several of the pieces of furniture he crafted will be treasured by his family for years to come.  He was an excellent cook and his potato salad, carrot cake, and apple pie were specialties.  In the summer, he enjoyed spending time at his camp on Brantingham Lake, where he taught his children and many of their friends to water ski.  Water skiing was something he continued to do into his later years.  In the fall, he very much looked forward to the annual hunting trip with family and friends to the Southern Tier.  In the winter, one of his favorite activities was snowmobiling at the camp that he made from a school bus on the Flat Rock Road.  He also enjoyed cross-country skiing.

The family would like to give special thanks to Betty Swartzentruber for the loving care she gave to Chuck.  They would also like to thank the medical staff in the Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, Rehab Unit of the Residential Healthcare Facility of Lewis County General Hospital, for the unconditional care and compassion they provided.
