Betty Hoag Obituary

LOWVILLE – Betty Martin Blanchard Hoag, 90, of Hoch Road, Lowville, died on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at her home, under the loving care of her family and Lewis County Hospice.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., 5702 Waters Road, Lowville, with Pastor Wayne Arnold, officiating. Burial will be in the Beaches Bridge Cemetery.  There will be no calling hours.  Contributions may be made to Lewis County Humane Society, P.O. Box 682, Lowville, NY  13367.

Betty is survived by her children and their spouses, Dara and Ed Tracy of Garrattsville, Traci and John Allen of Carthage, Shane and Pam Hoag of Lowville; eight grandchildren; Jon and Mindy Tracy, Edward Tracy, Sarah and Clint Thompson, Karen and Eric Quina, Matthew and Sarah Hoag, Shane Perry Hoag,  Heather and Brandon Wensel, Amber and Vincent Honorato; eight great-grandchildren Gavin Tracy; Ethan and Owen Wagner; Piper and Annalise Thompson; Cora and Gabriel Hoag; Kaitlyn Wensel; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband William Hoag; a brother Royal Blanchard; two sisters, Thelma Bongiovanni; Wanda Phifter; a granddaughter, Rebecca Wagner.

Mrs. Hoag was born in Mayfield, N.Y. on December 28, 1928, a daughter of the late Fredrick and Laura Trevet Martin. She was raised by William and Irene Blanchard. Betty was baptized at West Oneonta Baptist Church. She graduated from Morris Central School. She married William Bert Hoag in Morris Methodist Church on October 4, 1947.She was a member of the Morris Methodist Church. Betty and her husband William lived in Morris until 1970, they moved to Lowville, due to William’s job change. Betty was a missionette leader at the Assembly of God Church which she attended in Lowville. She was also a foster mother for many years. Betty loved and enjoyed her pet Kitty Cat for many years. She enjoyed camping, flower gardening, puzzles, bird watching, bingo and doing crafts. She loved to go on bus trips.
