PORT LEYDEN- Alfred C. Corrice Jr., 70, of River Road, Port Leyden, died Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse.
A funeral service will be said at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Mr. James Chaufty officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Contributions may be made to Port Leyden Fire Department, 3387 Route 12 D., Port Leyden, NY 13433.
He is survived by a daughter Denise and her husband Andrew Loadwick of Constableville; a son, Alan Corrice of Gloversville; 6 grandchildren, Brett Compo; Kyle Fitzgerald; Ethan Fitzgerald; Tyler Corrice; Mariah Corrice; Kaitlyn Corrice; two sisters, Sandra and her husband Harry Lucchetti of Ogdensburg; Karen Sargeant of Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Janice Corrice who died on November 9, 2016; a brother, Walter Corrice; and two sisters, Judy Putnam and Emily Howard.
Alfred was born on January 7, 1948 in Ogdensburg, a son of the late Alfred C. and Harriet Corrice. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1966, and then moved to Port Leyden to live with his sister. On August 24, 1974, he married Janice A. Ashley at Notre Dame Catholic Church of Ogdensburg. He became employed at Ethan Allen Furniture in Boonville for 32 years, until they closed. He then got his CNA certificate and worked at Sunset Nursing Home in Boonville for 2 years, until his retirement in 2006.
He enjoyed hunting and camping, spending time with family and friends, and most of all his beloved grandchildren.
